The guitar plays as nicely as it looks. Very crisp mellow tones from the Cedar top and laminated Buginga back and sides. This is the middle price series that is made in China. They are imported by the Hill Guitar Company of CA. Very high end products in this guitar that will make any classical guitarist take note of.
Here's some info on this cool guitar company....
NEW WORLD GUITARS are available in a wide variety of sizes, styles and prices suited to students, enthusiasts and performers alike.
Currently NEW WORLD GUITARS are available in 2 series: all solid wood PLAYER models and solid top ESTUDIO models.
In 1995 Kenny Hill traveled to Paracho, Mexico to begin building and importing the best quality guitars possible. Establishing the MASTER SERIES as a successful line of affordable hand-made instruments, he moved production to China in the early 2000's establishing the NEW WORLD brand.
Kenny traveled to each manufacturing site, trained staff, overseeing the design, technique and quality control of each model. Kenny continues to visit production sites periodically to review guitar production. This enables us to provide remarkable guitars at remarkable prices.
The techniques and materials used to build New World Guitars are the same used on Hill Guitars in California. All instruments are given their final set up and adjustment in our shop in California before being offered for sale. We think you'll agree we bring you traditional old world quality in our New World Guitars.
MATERIALS Our PLAYER and ESTUDIO guitars are made from the best quality woods we can acquire. Classical guitars come from the Spanish traditional design which also includes the acquisition and assembly of woods from around the world. These include cedar and spruce, Indian rosewood, ebony and Spanish cedar.
The soundboard or top is responsible for the majority of sound production, so we seek the best grades of Canadian cedar and spruce we can to get the best sound possible.
Back and sides are made from solid Indian rosewood for the PLAYER and laminated Indian rosewood for the ESTUDIO. The back and sides of our 45C are made of Bubinga.
The tradional wood for the fingerboard is Ebony from Africa, which is what we use on the PLAYER. We use Indian rosewood for the ESTUDIO fingerboards.
The material used for the nut and saddle is cow bone. Used on the finest concert guitars, the density of bone has been found to be the best for suspending the strings across the fingerboard and soundboard.
This particular guitar has a solid cedar top and Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Bone nut and very high end gold tuners. This is a guitar to be proud of. It has a traditional 25 1/2 inch scale neck and the nut measures a full 2 1/8 inches. A full classical width. I noticed that right away. I don't think I have ever played a guitar with that wide a nut. Very different and much easier for finger style picking.
As beautiful as this guitar is, check out that case. Incredibly beautiful and functional. It's as nice as the guitar and even includes a carry strap should you want to sling it over your shoulder. The accessory box even has the case key and truss rod tool. Yes, again, this cool guitar has a truss rod. Very unique for a classical guitar
Mint, yet sold as is no returns as it's used. However, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for over 20 years now. They all loved the guitars I found for them. This beautiful classical will certainly not be an exception
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars, parts and gear.

I have a 75 bolt on neck custom sunburst. I put gibson 57 in the neck, and 498t in the bridge. It sounds fantastic. The DiMarzio PAF pro in the neck and a super distortion in the bridge is also just killer. It sits with my Gibsons with no inferiority complex. It's even maybe a little more special because there are not a lot of these and those that have them don't want to sell them.
How much did this sell for please? I have a 1988 in mint condition with original chainsaw case.
Already got one. It’s awesome. Nice to see your video. Cheers.
That sounds and looks Amazing! What are y’all running it through? And settings , guitar and amp?Cheers Mate
Thx! Just a solid state Fender Princeton with a little reverb. Still available! Lm
These are not from 1990. They were introduced in 09’ I believe and were limited to 120.
The audio sounds horrible. But make no mistake ovation legend acoustic guitars sound great!
I could be wrong, but I don’t think they use those tuners back in 1970s
Love the blazer model! I have six of them and they all play better than any strat I've played. Humbuker Pickups are super 70's . The 1980 blazer is different than 81 82 models.
Ditto on the coke bottle head stock
Jayhawks!
I wished I had seen this when first posted it . I would like to had a chance to own this one .
One of my favourite guitars of all time……play it as much or more than my 1966 Strat….
Mike is great!!! I had a very technical question, I gave him a call, and he answered it thoroughly! He absolutely knows his stuff!! Go to his website, give him a call, buy from him, you won’t regret it!! Thanks for the info. Sir!!!👍🏼👍🏼
Thx bud! Lm
I have a 1973 Glen Campbell balladeer. Since 1975. Grover tuners.
That’s the best sounding D 18 I’ve ever heard. Which brand of strings and what pic are you using? Thanks
I had a blue metal flake 59er as a kid in the 80's It definitely got played
hello mr lawman, well great video,I had a friendly ,well not so freiendly argument with a fan who was in canada,he had this model,,6122 from late 60s,not sure what year,it had the fat grover gears, the finish was the darker walnut stain ,,the one you have has the lighter stain, the 6122 with the mutes on knobs ,for the top 3 strings and bottom 3 strings was changed a later in 60s,,,anyway my main point with this person was the color, george had two different models, the one with the mutes on knobs, and one with the toggle switch i wrote gretech, never got a reply, when I saw this at the music school in say 0ct,64,someone was trying it out,i was less than two feet from it,IT WAS semi-gloss black, with grover imperial gears, the chet plate in the top,the mid 60s was BLACK& WHITE SO THE ARC LIGHTING FOR TV WAS LOW,SO I THINK IT CANCELES OUT THE BROWN COLOR AND THE GUITAR CAN APPEAR BLACK,I WAS TOLD BUY A GUITAR STORE SALES REP AT A GUITAR STORE IN CRYSTEL RIVER,FL,WHERE i AM,THAT THE GUITAR GEORGE USED WAS GIVEN TO HIM FOR THE SULLIVAN SHOW,SO THAT MEANS HE HAD 3,NOT SURE OF THIS,I STILL HAVE MY BEATLES MAGS,,AND SOME PHOTOS ARE COLOR BY AVAILABLE LIGHT SHOW THE DARK COLOR OF THE WALNUT, AND ONE HAS THE GUITAR UPSIDE DOWN ,WTITH THE PAD FACEING UP,SINCE ITS BLACK,AND THE FLASH IS DAYLIGHT,IT LOOKS LIKE THE SEMI GLOSS BLACK,EVEN THOUGH IT COULD STILL BE THE DARK WALNUT ONE,I DURING THE REHURISEAL FOR THE SULLIVAN GEORGE WAS ILL WITH THE FLUE,SO NEIL ASPINAL STOOD IN FOR HIM AND THE PHOTO WAS BY AVAILABLE LIGHT,AND IT WAS THE WALNUT MODEL,THIS SO CALLED FAN WHO MISSED THE ERA,LIKE OTHERS WANT TO BECOME PART OF IT ,SO THEY WANT TO BE A SPOKESMAN,I DO THE SAME WITH THE 50S ,BUT I AM NICER ABOUT IT,,I NEVER DID SEE THE SEMI GLOSS BLACK AT MY MUSIC SCHOOL AFTER THAT,AND i NEVER ASKED ABOUT IT,THERE WAS A GRETECH SUPPLEMENT CATALOG,WHIC I SAW ON EBAY,AND I RECALLIT HAD THE 6122 IN BROWN,AND MY LATE 60S CATALOG HAD IT BROWN,WITH THE FAT GROVER GEARS,i DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE GRETECH IS,THEY WERE IN GEORGIA AS FARN AS NI KNOW,THE 6119,TENN,AND THE 6120 NASHVILLE WERE IN BLACK,AS A SPECIAL ORDER,BCAUSE i NEVER SAW THEM IN A STORE OR CATALOG,ON THE CHET LP, CALLED PICKS ON BEATLES,THAT 12 STRING 6122 IS IN SEMI -GLOSS BLACK,IN THE CATALOG I HAVE FROM 1968-9,ITS ONLY AVAILABLE IN NATURAL FINISH.THE BLACK COULD HAVE BEEN A SPECIAL ORDER,i HAVE SAID A LOT,WHATS YOUR VIEW ON THIS,THANKS,DAN DIORIO,BEVHILLS FL,,
Not sure. It was long ago..Lm
Hey Mike! Epic video!! Is this guitar still up for sale now?
Sorry. Sold right away! Thx bud! Lm
got the exact hump in the exact same place on my 1960 desert sand duosonic pickguard. the suckers have unbelievable tone and the tone knob, pickups are unreal on these. the duosonic neck pickup is amazing if you set it just right the guitar can even sound lie an acoustic. these are well worth the expense
I had one in white, i bought i in 1975 and sadly i sold it after 3-4 yers
Hi! Hope you can help me out with some info please! I inherited my dad's 1961 Harmony Rocket H-59 (3pick up) model. My mom gave it to him with a 1961 Gretsch Playboy Amp for Christmas in '61 so they've only been played by my dad or me recently! I've noticed the pots are scratchy and could use some De-Oxit, however I'm having a bear of a time figuring out how to get them up though the f hole and more importantly, GET THEM BACK IN their holes after they're cleaned! Any suggestions please, would be so much appreciated! Also, if you have a line in where to get a new pickgaurd for this guitar as the original is cracked and a clay fret marker has "vanished" at some point! I'd like to replace them both. Thanks so much for your help and these videos! I just found your channel today and yes I will hit the subscribe button!! 👍
Cool you still have it. Ebay usually has pickguards for those guitars or Pickguard Heaven as well. It's a chore to get the pots out and back in. That's why I have Jeff the Tech. Google changing pots in F Hole guitars. There has to be a UA-cam to help. Good luck bud. Appreciate your support! Lm
It's the first relic bass with build on neck tuner. It always shows E, so we stay tuned all the time :)
Hi, are the back and side also solid?
I don't remember. It was sold. Lm
Top is solid right?
I have the same guitar a 1977 instead
Cool!
Very Nice Mike. I look forward to getting my Silvertone Tenor from Jeff. I hadn’t really thought about the various tunings, with being a Bass Player. I just figured E,A,D & G. I guess I need to pay attention to my Bandmates and their Violins & Mandolins and their tunings. Your Epi sounds real nice!
Hi. Simce you mentioned in the video not knowing why it's called the Bubinga model- The back and sides are made from Bubinga wood not Indian Rosewood. The headplate is Indian rosewood. Hence, the Bubinga model.
Thank you! Lm
i had a les paul studio Tuxedo .very similar brings back great memories
Glad u liked it! Appreciate your support! Lm
Just sold! Lm
my first really good bass - the guitar version was great too with incredible twang
I've got the electromatic version, would love to step up to this.
for sale still?
This one sold but just listed another. Check it out! Great guitar. Lm Vintage 1971 Yamaha FG-300 Nippon Gakki Japan Hummingbird Barcus Berry Pickup Pro Setup New Strings Case Candy Original Hard Shell Case reverb.com/item/81922122?
I got one , because it looked so cool, plays alright, great for punk rock power chords style or surf chords.
Love this - I have one (also an F80xxxx serial) that needs new pickups/wiring … reminder of how much I always loved this!
For a time The Shaggs did have a 4th sister Rachel who played bass on one track on the album (Sports Car) and did a couple of gigs with the band.
Back in the early seventies I was in the musicshop Servaes in The Hague (Netherlands) I was planning to buy a second hand Gibson Les Paul custom but it was gone already. Out of frustrations I bought 5 Coral Fireflies as Nico Servaes was the importer in the Netherlands but they didn't sold that good. It was a steal as also these Coral Fireflies were great value for the bucks. Nice sound, especially the neck pick up. Danelectro, the company behind it, built their bodies with cheap materials, in fact a bit of a hollow body idea as well but that worked wonderfully well in combinations with these pick ups. I've putted them on some loose parts of a Fenix Strat. The sounds was good as well but not the way the old Danelectro's did sound. Magic sometimes pops up unexpected!
I think this is the guitar i have
A cool sounding guitar !!!!
So how come the truss rod cover has 3 screws in it?? mine from 1974 has only 2.
Hey there. I have the same guitar in a smoke color with an additional switch that is a coil splitter. It also is a 1978. I know this by the faded date on the battery cloth. It also has a 70's whammy bar spring set up which looks like it is factory which I have never seen on any Vulcans. It does not have a sticker on the back of the headstock depicting it as a 930 or 950. I've seen identical electra's marked as X930's and X950's. Do you know what differentiates them? I know there is a lot of mis info on the internet as to the years as mine is marked 78' and the sights say these weren't made before 1970. Thanks for the video.
I don't have any more info than relayed. Sorry. Thx for your support! Lm
my dream guitar! i wish i was able to afford one😓
Wow, I haver the same guitar. I received it as a Christmas gift around 1967. It's still original in great shape and plays great!
Absolutely love mine..gorgeous sounding guitar
Thank you for this honest review and sound test. Those guitars were well crafted and still endure today. '' copy'' surpasses original...
Great Demo , fantastic looking and sounding guitar .
That sounds like an electric guitar should.... :)))
i just bought a 754 jumbo ibanez for £20! at a yard sale .. was it good ????
Beautiful instrument. I've just today but one identical but from 1986. Not in as good condition as the one here (mine has definitely been around the block a bit) but sounds every bit as lovely!
What does a guitar like that cost?
4k
I recently sold my Antoria branded version of this built in the same ibanez factory. They had excellent necks on all that era guitars.
I've 2 of these from the 70's they are certainly stand out instruments and Les' first choice of all of his available options, his mantre to obtain the cleanest sound possible.
These were made by Hayashi Mokku, not Guyatone.
